Welcome to Gated. This Privacy Policy explains how Gated ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information in relation to our mobile application, the Gated Resident App (the "App"). This policy applies to all users ("you" or "your") of the App.

- Household Information: You may provide information about other members of your household and vehicles associated with your unit to facilitate access and management.
- Visitor Information: When you add a visitor, we collect their name and the designated access times and dates.
- Financial Information: For the purpose of monthly dues management, we may collect information related to your dues, such as bank transfer receipt details that you choose to upload. Gated does not collect or store your full credit card or banking information directly.
- Communications Data: We collect information you provide when you report an issue, send messages to community administrators, or respond to announcements.
- Digital Documents: We store documents that you review and sign digitally through the App.
- Usage and Device Information: We automatically collect information about how you use the App and the device you use to access it, such as your IP address, device type, operating system, and app usage statistics.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To Provide Core Services: To manage visitor access, facilitate monthly dues management, facilitate communications between you and your community administration, and enable emergency assistance requests.
- To Maintain and Improve the App: To understand how our users interact with the App, troubleshoot issues, and develop new features.
- For Security and Verification: To verify your identity, secure your account, and maintain the safety and security of the community.
- To Communicate With You: To send you important notifications, announcements from your community management, and respond to your inquiries.
Who We Share Your Information With
Your information is shared with specific parties to ensure the proper functioning of your community's management and security systems.
- Your Community Administrators: This is a critical part of how Gated works. Your designated community administrators (which may include your Property Management company, Homeowners Association (HOA), or Strata Board) have access to the information you provide in the App. This is necessary for them to manage community operations, verify residents, oversee security, manage financials, and communicate with you effectively.
- Gated Personnel: Authorized Gated personnel may access your information to provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and maintain the App's infrastructure. Our access is governed by strict internal privacy and security protocols.
- Third-Party Service Providers: We may share your information with trusted third-party vendors who perform services on our behalf, such as data hosting. These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).
